Agenda

Tuesday, February 20 — 10:00-11:00 AM — "How extreme weather events are changing wind forecasting"

Presented by: Shivam Malhotra (LCP) and Rob Hutchinson (Meteomatics)

Wind storms this winter have resulted in significant volatility in European energy markets — a trend that is likely to continue as installed wind capacity grows. With reference to recent wind storms, Shivham and Rob will discuss wind power forecasting challenges during wind storms and how combining the latest weather modelling and machine learning technologies can optimize trading strategies during turbulent weather.
