Applied uses of drone technology have become increasingly common in recent years and since the end of 2016 has been enhanced further with the arrival of Meteomatics weather drones. Our network of Meteodrones routinely ascend and descend across Switzerland recording wind speed and direction, relative humidity and temperature through the boundary layer up to around 3000m. Meteomatics vision was shared by Dr. Martin Fengler, CEO of Meteomatics, as a speaker at the Dialog Day of the German Aerospace Society in Friedrichshafen. Under the title "Meteodrones: Experiences from 2000 Flight Hours under BVLOS in Civil Airspace" Dr. Martin Fengler's innovative approach once again confirmed Meteomatics' pioneering role in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
