Meteomatics is invited to the Flugschulleiter Meeting 2016 in Olten November 5th and 6th from the Schweizer Motoflugverband. An event that deals with the airspace, its participants and innovations it is a perfect match with Meteomatics. Therefore, Dr. Martin Fengler, CEO of Meteomatics, presents the ideas and goals of the Meteodrones.

As of today, existing weather models fail to predict fog, high fog and thunderstorms properly. As first swiss company Meteomatics developed the Meteodrone, to close this data gap. As a flying weather station the drone collects data in the lower atmosphere which will be assimilated in a model afterwards. At the moment the U.S. weather agency NOAA uses this innovation which enables them to forecast thunderstorms and tornados more precisely.
