St Gallen: (September 16, 2020) – Meteomatics AG, the Swiss-based global weather service provider and weather drone expert, is delighted to announce the signing of a Sales Agency Agreement for the supply of its Meteodrones with leading US based micro weather data analytics and UAS operations expert TruWeather Solutions Inc.

The companies are further enhancing their existing successful business engagement in order to deliver Meteodrones, on demand, to the North American market. The strategic business alliance will focus on joint customer development bringing together science-quality micro weather data collection, modeling and decision insights in a single service offering.  Both companies will take a leading role in helping customers to minimise weather related operational risk and to maximise business performance with the unique data-gathering capabilities of the Meteodrones.

Meteomatics and TruWeather have jointly recognised the growing North American market opportunity for Meteodrone-enabled local forecasting solutions across the public, private and defense sectors.

“We are delighted to further develop our relationship with TruWeather Solutions and see them as integral to our mission to lead the next generation of meteorological technology for the modern enterprise,” said Dr Martin Fengler, Founder and CEO of Meteomatics. “By working with TruWeather’s deep expertise in the delivery of ROI enhancing weather data solutions into the aviation, logistics and weather industries we look forward to integrating our industry-leading Meteodrones into the North American market, and to create an alliance that will ultimately help public and private organisations all over the world derive more value and insights from environmental data than ever before.”

With an increased frequency and severity of extreme weather, and the complexities of accurately forecasting local weather, Meteomatics’ Meteodrones solve critical challenges for today’s leading-edge organisations. Meteodrones measure and deliver  high quality environmental data from ground level up to 6km, enabling organisations to quickly obtain deep insights into current and future operational challenges and risks.

Former National Weather Service Director of Science and Technology and TruWeather's CEO and Co-Founder, Don Berchoff comments: “TruWeather has been working with a variety of industries to understand micro weather pain points that cost businesses mission effectiveness, client satisfaction, time, and money.  We see the Meteodrone as critical for making demonstratable progress in reducing micro weather uncertainty, especially for the renewable energy and emerging drone and air taxi industries.  Addressing micro weather challenges will take more than downscaling models or leveraging data-limited artificial intelligence or machine learning algorithms.  It will require real time data that provides a complete picture of the atmosphere.  Meteodrones are foundational to the sensing ecosystem TruWeather is striving to bring together.”
