St Gallen: (November 5th, 2019) – Meteomatics AG, the Swiss-based global weather service provider and weather drone expert, is delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with leading Brisbane based weather data analytics and services expert Weather Intelligence to provide high resolution weather forecasting service for Australia.

The companies are formalising their business engagement in order to develop new go-to-market strategies with specific emphasis on the use of drones in data gathering through the lower atmosphere to deliver precision hyperlocal forecasting. The strategic business alliance will focus on joint customer development initially in Australia and will help both companies take a leading role in minimising weather related risk and maximising business performance.

After years of independent customer successes and value creation, Meteomatics and Weather Intelligence, part of the Katestone Environmental group, have now jointly recognised the growing market opportunity for Meteodrone-enabled local forecasting solutions delivered through tailored decision support and insight services for customer operations across both public and private sectors.

“We are delighted to develop our relationship with Weather Intelligence and welcome them as a growing partner in our mission to lead the next generation of meteorological technology for the modern enterprise,” said Dr Martin Fengler, Founder and CEO of Meteomatics. “By working with Weather Intelligence’s deep expertise in delivering solutions to solve weather related industry problems we look forward to integrating our industry-leading Meteodrones and high resolution forecast modelling into the Australian market, and creating an alliance that will ultimately help public and private organisations across the region derive more value and insights from environmental data than ever before.”

With an increased frequency and severity of extreme weather, and the complexities of accurately forecasting weather at site scale, it is unsurprising that there’s a real need for better hyperlocal forecasting. Paving the pathway to better predictive tools for managing weather related risks to businesses.

Meteomatics’ Meteodrones solve critical challenges for today’s leading-edge organisations by giving them access to high quality environmental data taken from ground level up to 3km and beyond. By using these Meteodrone-gathered environmental data and high-resolution local modelling, organisations can quickly gain deep insights into current and future operational challenges and risks.

Weather Intelligence’s  CEO Christine Killip comments: “At Weather Intelligence, we take pride in working with world-leading partners to deliver high quality, innovative  weather data driven business insights to our customers; Meteomatics have been really transparent and open to engage with, and we share the same cultural values that put the delivery of high quality and innovative weather data driven solutions at the centre of our customer relationships.”
