Who Is Jim Robinson?
Jim Robinson is Director of Marketing and Communications North America at Meteomatics, where he focuses on translating complex weather data into decision-relevant insights for industries such as energy, aviation, logistics, and risk management.
His career spans broadcast journalism, field reporting, and media leadership, with experience across FOX, NBC, ABC, and CBS affiliates. At CBS Miami, he pioneered mobile journalism in the market, producing and broadcasting live from the field during major weather events, including hurricane deployments across the U.S. and the Bahamas. He later reported internationally for NTN24 across South and Central America, including coverage of the Colombian presidential election.
At The Weather Channel, Jim worked across broadcast operations, studio production, and field reporting, covering high-impact weather events such as hurricanes and tornadoes in real time. This experience shaped his understanding of how accurate and timely weather intelligence directly influences operational and safety-critical decisions.
He transitioned into business leadership as VP of Production and Distribution at Money Talks News, where he aligned content strategy with commercial performance for a nationally syndicated financial news program.
Jim also served as an adjunct professor at Florida International University, helping train journalists to operate independently, adapt to new technologies, and communicate effectively across platforms.
