The Meteomatics Story
The Meteomatics Story
From a desire for better weather forecasts to a world-leading weather business
The story of Meteomatics began back in 2012 in response to a growing desire for more accurate weather forecasts. Meteomatics now employs over 35 experts, ranging from data scientists, meteorologists, hydrologists, physicists, drone engineers, electrical engineers, technologists & business professionals, with most staff located at our HQ in St Gallen, Switzerland.
Plus we have account management and sales staff located in Germany, France and the UK. Meteomatics team members are fluent in a wide range of languages, allowing us to support customers from all over the world. Whether its helping the US government improve tornado forecasts or seamlessly integrate weather data into business decisions across Europe and Asia, Meteomatics has the solution.
Dr. Martin Fengler (Founder & CEO) about Meteomatics
At Meteomatics we have set ourselves the goal of addressing and demystifying two particular issues. Firstly, the perception that the selection and delivery of quality weather data has to be complicated and difficult and secondly that hyperlocal weather forecasting is by its very nature unreliable and inexact. To solve the first issue, we have developed our own unique API technology that allows straightforward realtime interactions with huge volumes of weather data, slicing and dicing them and delivering only the specific data needed to answer our clients' requests. Secondly, by incorporating the enhanced temporal and spatial data gathered by our Meteodrones we are able to significantly improve hyperlocal weather forecast accuracy and reliability.
