Pavewise is reshaping construction by replacing guesswork with data-driven decisions. Using high-resolution weather insights from Meteomatics, the platform empowers contractors to plan smarter, reduce risk, and deliver projects with greater precision and accountability.

Bryce, the founder of Pavewise, didn’t set out to build software — he set out to solve a problem he knew too well. A third-generation construction pro, Bryce grew up on job sites where costly decisions were made by instinct, not insight.

"There’s a lot of shooting from the hip in this industry,” he says. “People look up at the sky or check a generic app and roll the dice. That can be an expensive call."

Determined to shift the industry from reactive to proactive, Bryce began stitching together weather and quality data into a homegrown tool — a self-described “Frankenstein software.” But the mission was clear: empower crews with the clarity to plan smarter, act faster, and waste less. That mission became Pavewise.

Precision Forecasting: Turning Weather into Opportunity

Pavewise isn’t just about seeing the weather — it’s about understanding its impact.

“Every project is impacted by weather differently,” said Jace, who leads technical implementation at Pavewise. “It’s not just about the forecast — it’s about what that forecast means for your job site.”

By integrating Meteomatics’ ultra-precise, high-resolution forecasts — extending out to 30 days — Pavewise gives contractors clarity where there was once only guesswork. For an industry used to 3-to-7-day windows, this is a leap forward.

We’ve had contractors scheduling major pours or paving phases around these 30-day insights. One of them told me, ‘We’ve got five great days coming up — let’s hit it hard.’ That kind of foresight is a game-changer.

Protecting Projects and Budgets with Data-Driven Accountability

Every truckload of asphalt can cost tens of thousands of dollars — and when weather goes sideways, those costs multiply. Pavewise mitigates that risk in two key ways: operational foresight and defensible documentation.

From torrential rain to temperature thresholds, the platform enables teams to prove when conditions halted work — and why.

“It protects both sides,” Bryce said. “If a client questions why something was paved, the contractor has the data. If the weather causes delays, they have the records to negotiate.”

This traceability doesn’t just keep projects moving — it can also help avoid litigation, change orders, and strained relationships.

Safer Crews, Smarter Sites

Beyond productivity and planning, Pavewise is advancing job site safety. With Meteomatics’ weather alerts, the team is piloting real-time warnings for sudden rain, heat stress, lightning, and other hazards — giving crews a chance to act before risk turns into incident.

By centralizing all this insight — from weather to compliance to operations — Pavewise becomes a single source of truth for both contractors and municipalities.

“Right now, five different apps will give you five different readings,” Bryce noted. “But when decisions hinge on a few degrees, you need consistency. Meteomatics gives us that, and we pass it on to our users.”

Engineering the Future with Better Data

Meteomatics’ role in the platform has been foundational — not just for today’s features, but for what comes next.

We were able to implement the API even before reaching out for support,” said Jace. “The documentation is solid, the data’s clean, and we have the flexibility to fine-tune it to what matters. That control is powerful.”

Today, Pavewise is already being tested in government DOT pilots — with potential to become a national standard for weather-driven oversight in public infrastructure. From insurance to safety compliance, their roadmap is just beginning.

Why This Partnership Works

Pavewise trusts Meteomatics data because their business relies on solid decision-making insights, empowering people to act with confidence, avoid waste, and deliver better results.

“We’re evolving faster and doing more for our clients because we have the right data. And honestly, we’re just getting started.”
