Part 2: Top Weather Data Challenges in the Energy Industry

Most energy leaders say meeting the increasing demand from customers for energy is becoming difficult during extreme weather events due to energy supply shortages.

Meteomatics’ 2025 Weather Data Trends in Energy Report explores where energy companies feel the weather is affecting their operations and customers the most. Meteomatics surveyed 270+ U.S. senior level energy executives across grid operations, utilities and energy trading to assess weather-related challenges they’re currently navigating, the impact of the weather data they rely on, and what technologies they are targeting for future investments.

The ability to accurately forecast the weather is critical for energy companies to predict renewable energy production, and create distribution strategies accordingly so they can meet demand, navigate stressors on the power grid and optimize their earnings.

Below are the findings for Part 2 of the 2025 Weather Data Trends in Energy Report, which reveals that the majority of energy leaders say meeting the increasing demand from customers for energy is becoming difficult during extreme weather events due to energy supply shortages.
