US1k Fully Operational — Talk to Us To Set Up a PoC!
Our US1k model is now fully deployed and operational, providing you with high-resolution weather forecasts across the contiguous United States and the Gulf.
- Native spatial resolution: 1 km (further downscaled to 90 m)
- Native temporal resolution: 15 min
- Lead time: 48 hours
This level of data granularity is unique in the market and gives you a significant competitive advantage for improved planning confidence and risk mitigation, cost savings, operational continuity, resource allocation, and safety for workforce and assets.

Receive CWV Forecasts up to 46 Days Ahead
Customers managing gas demand in the UK can now access Composite Weather Values (CWV) forecasts for up to 46 days, a significant extension from the previous 14-day limit.
Meteomatics calculates CWV values daily, delivering actuals and forecasts for each of the 13 local distribution zones in the UK, as well as a UK-wide aggregate. These forecasts provide highly accurate insights that enable demand forecasters to predict gas consumption with greater confidence, empowering trading teams to make more informed decisions.

Global EDR Data for Turbulence Detection
We’re expanding our coverage with global EDR (Eddy Dissipation Rate) data, delivering precise turbulence detection for flights anywhere in the world.
In Europe and the U.S., our EURO1k and US1k models provide unmatched turbulence insights, ensuring smoother and safer journeys with localized, high-resolution accuracy.
Weather Data Quality and Coverage
Continuous Enhancements in Radar Data in North America
We’ve extended our radar data coverage with enhanced quality control to new regions, including:
- Alaska and Hawaii
- Canada
- Puerto Rico
The enhanced filtering cleans false positives such as birds, wind farms, and stray radio signals, ensuring you receive only the most accurate data.
Get Quantiles From Polygons
Analyze weather parameters — like precipitation, temperature, and wind speed — using any quantiles across any defined geographic area.
The new quantile aggregation allows you select values corresponding to any quantile for precipitation, temperature, wind speed, and other weather parameters, within polygons, making it easier to:
- Eliminate Outliers: Automatically remove data from regions that are too elevated or exhibit extreme variability, ensuring more accurate and relevant weather insights.
- Improve Risk Assessment: Enhance predictions for example for wind risk, heat extremes, or heavy precipitation by filtering out irrelevant elevation-based distortions.
Usability Enhancements
Full Support for Imperial Units
Good news for our US-based users: All imperial units are now fully supported across all parameters — both in our API and MetX.
Whether it's inches of rain or miles per hour, your preferred measurements are available at every touchpoint.
Save Time With Quick Selection of Weather Views in MetX
Faster, easier, and still fully customizable — our new quick selection feature streamlines your workflow by providing instant access to key weather parameters, including radar, satellite, wind, thunderstorms, temperature, cloud cover, waves, and precipitation.
To enable quick selection, simply click on the "Account" icon in the top-right corner and toggle on the "Quick selection" option.
Directly below the quick selection menu, you'll find the model selector (pre-configured with the Meteomatics Mix model), where you can choose from the most used global and regional models.
Each view remains fully customizable through the layer stack.
Easily Upload and Manage Your GeoJSON Files in MetX
Gain more control and speed up the process of visualizing your custom data by uploading your GeoJSON files to MetX directly.
Simply open the “Add Layer” window, select “Custom GeoJSON” as the mode, and click “Upload New” to add your file.
Once uploaded, you can:
- Rename or delete file
- Filter by name
- Share them via dashboard sharing
- View storage usage in megabytes (MB)
New Display Options for Thresholds in Plots
Customize how thresholds appear in your plots to improve clarity and readability.
You can now choose to display each threshold as:
- A colored plot area
- A shaded background
- A horizontal line
This makes it easier to interpret threshold values at a glance — no need to scan the plot for color changes when a clear line can do the job.
