Lightning Data
Lightning strikes can be viewed in a dedicated layer in MetX, called ”Lightning Data”. Click on Layer Stack , select ”Add Layer” and ”Lightning Data” in the ”Mode” section.
In the Layer Stack, the user can change the interval, size as well as the opacity of the strikes. Note that lightning data is
based on observations so is only available for times in the past.
Using the legend, the display allows the user to see how long ago the lightning strike happened relative to the selected time.
By clicking on a lightning strike, the user can view detailed information, including its coordinates, strike time, polarity, current (kA), and lightning type.
