Create and Export Animations

MetX can be used to create animations of weather maps. To do so, add a layer to the map and click on ”Animation” in the bottom right corner.

Clicking on the animation button will enable the animation bar, which comes with several options: From right to left, there is a button ”Time Navigation”, which leads back to time bar (=exits the animation mode), the animation scroll bar, forwards, play, backwards, loop buttons and a date time button.

In the bottom left corner, the date time button enables the user to adjust the animation time range settings, which include start and end time, timezone, time step and frames per second (FPS). Clicking the ”Apply” button approves your adjusted preferences.

After hitting the Apply-button you can run the animation as well as export it with clicking on the video icon:
