The Meteomatics weather API contains data on weather and climate. It provides access to over 25 weather models (e.g. GFS, ECMWF, DWD, MeteoFrance, UKMetoffice and many more) and more than 1800 weather parameters. Meteocache – Modelling Weather Data in Real Time

The Meteomatics API is powered by our Meteocache. Meteomatics Meteocache is a sophisticated background caching system and holds a large amount of observations, which allows the Weather API to recalculate the forecast with the latest available information about the state of the atmosphere. We improve the accuracy of weather data by taking into account the details of the topography. Based on a proven interpolation technique, the latest weather data from the weather models are combined with model data from NASA's 90m digital terrain model and refined to produce higher local accuracy.

The Meteocache ensures that large amounts of data can be modeled and provided "on the fly", i.e. in real time. The meteocache matches the data in time and space and ensures that the weather API can return the requested data query efficiently and very quickly despite the size and format of the original data set.
